A room with only a ceiling lamp looks flat. Good lighting works in three layers:
- Ambient light: A pendant or ceiling lamp, dimmed.
- Task light: A directional lamp at the table or armchair.
- Mood light: One or two table lamps at eye level, warm white.
As a rule of thumb: at least three light sources per room, all at 2,700 kelvin.
